"Ich habe von der Nacht geträumt" starts (or ends) with the"Seven Princesses", a symbolist play written by Maurice Maeterlinck. In it, seven women are locked in a room;
frail and puny, they sleep or fall asleep endlessly. Several questions seize the spectator: what is this room, this place where they came to sleep? Exiled from life, why are they locked up here, why are they so exhausted and sleep so deeply? Do they really sleep elsewhere?
In this choreographed piece, we wanted to imagine and retrace the journey of these seven princesses in this indeterminate place closed to life and offer a reason for their inevitable falling asleep.
